Argyll, Mull & Iona (4 Days) – Overview
Leave Glasgow and travel north via Loch Lomond and take the road west over the Rest and be Thankful mountain pass. Proceeding to Loch Fyne we come to the town of Inverary. This once important main town of Argyllshire has its main attraction of Inverary Castle. Home to the Duke of Argyll it is open to the public and has a great collection of early French furniture, paintings, armoury and memorabilia of the Clan Campbell.
Leaving Inverary we head north to Loch Awe, passing the much photographed Kilchurn Castle, once a stronghold of Black Duncan. After a visit to St Conan’s Church we will continue west and into the town of Oban. In the evening we will visit the Skipinnish Ceilidh House, where you can experience a Scottish evening with song and dance, and the Highland Bagpipe.
